The filter media of water softeners and other ion exchange based water treatment equipment is exhausted during use. If there is not enough of a supply of salt tablets in the brine tank, the unit cannot regenerate itself and the water stays hard.
Product description
Tableted water softener salt is salt that has been processed and formed into solid tablets. It is of high purity and consists mainly of sodium chloride (table salt), making the product suitable for both industrial and home conditions. Miridon OÜ supplies water softener salt from German factories.
Quality tablet salt dissolves evenly in the brine tank, does not break down and does not clog the brine piping. The factor that guarantees the quality of the salt is the pressure used to make the salt tablet – the denser the salt tablet, the more evenly it dissolves. Water softener salt is environmentally friendly and contains no harmful additives, so it is a safe and effective choice.
Intended use
The 1000 kg bulk quantity is intended for industrial companies, boiler houses, apartment buildings and other large consumers where the water softener runs continuously and salt consumption is high. Ordering in bulk reduces the number of deliveries and keeps the brine tank supply always full. The same salt is also used in swimming pool water maintenance and in the food industry.
Operating principle
Salt tablets are added to a special tank or vessel filled with water, in which a brine forms as the salt dissolves. This solution is used during backwashing, i.e. regeneration, to restore the working capacity of the filter media (ion exchange resin) – the calcium and magnesium accumulated in the resin are replaced with sodium again, and the exhausted material becomes ready for work again.
NB! Adding salt to the water does not make the water softer. The brine restores the working capacity of the filter media.
To ensure correct and efficient use of water softener salt, it is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and check the parameters of the water treatment equipment. To ensure the process works efficiently, the brine concentration and water hardness level should also be monitored regularly.
