Description
Problem
Odor and taste of the water.
Unit description
The chemical-free activated carbon unit is designed to improve the odor and taste properties of the water. The activated carbon filter completely removes the odor and taste of chlorine and, to a small extent, organic substances dissolved in the water. The unit consists of a vessel filled with filter media and a fully automatic controller that manages the filter’s operation. The filter medium is activated carbon, made specifically for water treatment.
Operating principle
Particles of substances in the water are adsorbed onto the surface of the activated carbon filter media. During backwashing of the filter media, the activated carbon is loosened and the filtered sediment is flushed into the drain. No chemicals are needed to backwash the unit’s filter media. The unit works fully automatically, backwashing on a time basis. Under the standard program, backwashing takes place every three days. The installation site needs an electrical outlet and a drain connection.
