Hard water causes limescale to form in pipework and equipment, increases energy costs and shortens equipment life. In industrial processes and large buildings, where water consumption is considerable, water softening is essential to ensure reliable production and lower maintenance costs.

Miridon supplies water softening equipment for boiler houses, laundries, hotels, restaurants, food processing plants and other industrial sectors.

Professional systems ensure an uninterrupted supply of softened water, even under heavy consumption loads. The units operate fully automatically according to the configured consumption.

Standard solutions – lower capacity (5-20 m³/h)

  • The units have their own controller, which manages the automatic operating and regeneration cycle.
  • The units can be used individually or in combination.
  • A common solution is a two-unit system where one unit is in operation and the other on standby – this ensures continuous availability of softened water.
  • When used in parallel, the controllers are linked to prevent the units from regenerating at the same time.

 

Project-based solutions – high capacity

Maintenance service

Service your equipment at least once a year.

Even the best water treatment equipment needs regular maintenance. We recommend servicing at least once a year to ensure the equipment's reliability, efficiency and long service life. Miridon's maintenance service includes a technical inspection of the equipment, cleaning (including cleaning of the salt tank when necessary) and an express water analysis.

We also replace filter media.

PDA series

The unit is designed to remove hardness (i.e. the calcium and magnesium ions contained in the water).

The unit is used when treated water must be available at all times (including during regeneration).

The unit can be operated in two ways.

  1. Duplex unit – the filter vessels work alternately, i.e. one vessel is in service while the other is on standby. When the capacity of the first vessel is exhausted, the second vessel goes into service and the first goes into regeneration. When regeneration finishes, the vessel remains on standby until the capacity of the other vessel is exhausted. The duplex unit is the most efficient, because the useful capacity can always be used up completely without the risk of hard water leaking into the outlet.
  2. Parallel unit – the filter vessels work at the same time but go into regeneration at different times. Each vessel has its own water meter, which the unit uses to decide when regeneration is needed. While one vessel is regenerating, the other keeps working and supplies the consumer with softened water. When regeneration ends, the first vessel resumes work and the second goes into regeneration when necessary. For this reason, the regeneration start of a parallel unit is programmed with a small margin. A parallel unit is used when a continuous supply of softened water is important, but the capacity of a single vessel is occasionally insufficient and, for technical reasons, larger vessels cannot be used.

The user’s task is to make sure there are always enough salt tablets in the brine tank. The installation site needs an electrical outlet and a drain connection.

MGD series

The unit is used when treated water must be available at all times (including during backwashing).

The unit can be started in two ways.

MGV series

The unit is designed to remove hardness (i.e. the calcium and magnesium ions contained in the water). The water treatment unit consists of a vessel filled with filter media, a fully automatic controller that manages the filter’s operation, and a brine tank. The filter medium is an ion exchange resin made specifically for water treatment.

The unit removes calcium and magnesium ions from the water, replacing them with sodium ions. The unit works fully automatically, performing regeneration (backwashing) according to consumption. The user’s task is to make sure there are always enough salt tablets in the brine tank. The installation site needs an electrical outlet and a drain connection.

Note: the drain must be able to take the backwash flow rate. We recommend consulting our sales team beforehand.

 

MGVT series

Each filter vessel has its own water meter, which the unit uses to decide when regeneration is needed. When one unit is regenerating, the others do not start backwashing at the same time but wait until the regenerating unit has finished. For this reason, the regeneration start of a parallel unit is programmed with a small margin. A parallel unit is used when a continuous supply of softened water is important, but the capacity of one or two filter vessels is occasionally insufficient and, for technical reasons, larger vessels cannot be used.
